One of the harsh realities of life is that you are on your own.
Of course there will be folks by your side during different phases but one matter of fact is that the foundations of all relationships are personal interests.
You are the first line of defence whenever something happens and hence, knowing and not expecting folks to be there with you should be the de-facto mechanism.
